CIRCLEVILLE - James H. "Jim" Alters, 54 of Circleville died Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, NE. He was born June 14, 1951 in Moline, IL, the son of Cline R. and Ida Mae Greemore Alters. He lived in Circleville for the past 29 years and was a C.F.T. with El Paso Energy/ANR Pipeline. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #20 in Circleville. Jim was a Ham Radio operator, enjoyed flying his airplane and loved spending time with his grandchildren, friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Garland "Allen" Eubanks and his sister, Carol Jones.
Jim married Kandy Hainline in 1973 in Holton. She survives. He is also survived by a son, James Patrick "Pat" Alters and his wife, Peggy of Topeka; daughters, Leigh Alters-Nienstedt and her husband, Carl of Savannah, MO and Megan Alters of Lawrence, KS; brothers, Guy "Eldon" Alters of Topeka, Paul "Tony" Alters of Olathe, and John Michael Alters of Bloomington, IL; grandchildren, Thomas Owen "T.O." Nienstedt, Peyton James "Peytonator" Nienstedt, and Cameron James "Camo" Alters.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Netawaka Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
