Obituary

SOLDIER- Jacqueline Hankerson, 77, of Soldier, KS passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at a Topeka hospital. She was born March 8, 1932 in Paris, France the daughter of Jacque and Marie Claire Camberabero Lamour. She had lived in the Soldier Community since 1966, during that time she was a homemaker and had worked at the Onaga Sewing Factory for several years. Mrs. Hankerson was a member of the Calico Garden's Quilt Guild in Holton and the Monday Morning Coffee Club in Soldier.
She married Hugh L. Hankerson on August 2, 1956 in England; he passed away February 15, 2001. She was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Hankerson in 1960.
Survivors include her step-mother, Claire Lamour of Capbreton, France; a son, Terence Hankerson of Soldier, KS; 2 daughters, Isabelle Al-Fulaij of Stuart, FL and Patty Hankerson- Davis of Denton, KS; a sister, Nadine Lamour of Capbreton, France; 9 grandchildren, Salem, Hussa, Khalid, and Sara Al- Fulaij, Shiloh Hamilton, Shelby Frakes, Scarlett Davis, Elyse Hawthorne and Alyxis Hankerson and 4 great-grandchildren, Haya, Maryam, Fulaij and Salah.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will be in Olive Hill Cemetery south of Soldier. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Jackson County Friends of Hospice c/o Mercer Funeral Home P.O.
