Irving Leroy "Shuck-na-buk" Shopteese, Jr., 67, of Topeka, KS, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2025 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. He was born July 28, 1958 in Topeka, KS, the son of Irving L. Shopteese, Sr. and Inez Wahweotten.

Irving earned his GED and attended a trade school for printing.

He worked as a form builder in concrete construction and later was a cook for local Mexican restaurants.

He is a member of Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and as a child he was a member of the Drum Religion.

Survivors include his brother, Dennis Shopteese of Mayetta, KS and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Irving L. Shopteese, Sr.; mother, Inez Dodds; 2 sisters, Victoria Shopteese and Linda Zephier and a brother, Randall Shopteese.

Family will greet friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2025 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Friday morning at Danceground Cemetery on the Prairie Band Potawatomi Reservation.
