Margaret Imogene Hodges was born in Leavenworth, Kansas on October 21, 1939 to Cary (Tad) and Elizabeth (Libby) May Boyd. She attended Leavenworth schools, where she met Byron Hodges. They married June 14, 1958 and had 67 wonderful years together. Imogene passed from this life on August 6, 2025. She was 85 years old.

Imogene and Byron had 5 children: Mark (Beth), Molly (John Brennaman), Walden (Ronda), Peter (Linda), and Joseph. They had 10 grandchildren: Steven (Anne) Fagan, Kevin (Haylee) McCarter, Jennifer (Shane) Thomas, Amy (Landon) Fowles, Sarah (Matthew) Strayhall, Anne (Zach) Jacobson, Nick (Lindsay) Hodges, Andrew Hodges, Thomas Hodges (fiancé Maddie), and Katherine Hodges. They have 13 great-grandchildren with a great granddaughter on the way.

Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Raymond (Butch) Boyd, her brothers-in-law, Albert Brosa and Richard Hodges, sister-in-law, Sue Hansen, and youngest son, Joseph Hodges.

She is survived by her husband, 4 children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters, Irene Brosa and Barbara (Donald) White, Sister-in-law, Helen Boyd and brother-in-law Henry (Connie) Hodges.

The family will greet friends from 5-7:00 P.M. Monday, August 11, 2025 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls, KS. A private family interment will follow at the Valley Falls Cemetery. The family will have a Memorial Service at the First Baptist Church, 340 N. 13th Street, Leavenworth, KS 66048 at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 12, 2025.
