Ilene L. Bennett, 86, of Soldier died Saturday, February 25, 2012 at a Holton nursing home. Ilene was born October 23, 1925 in Circleville, KS, the daughter of Emmett and Dolly Frakes Baxter.
Ilene graduated from Circleville High School in 1943. She worked at Ben Franklins and Ron's United Super both in Holton. She was a member of the Circleville Christian Church.
Ilene married Kenneth Bennett on November 24, 1943 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1993. Ilene was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, June Anne Bennett and a son, Steven Dale Bennett on May 20, 2005. She is survived by a sister, Lucille Griffiths of Topeka; grandsons, Dustin Bennett and Jesse Bennett and great grandchildren, Isabelle Bennett, Tristan Wilson and Kaiden Bennett.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday February 28, 2012 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be at Olive Hill Cemetery west of Holton.
