Hollis Irick

HOLTON-Hollis Duane Irick, 73, of Orange County, CA, died Sunday, January 27, 2008 in Las Vegas, NV, he had been in the hospital since November 24, 2007.
He was born September 1, 1934 in Valley Falls, KS the son of Marion and Minnie Ann Eden Irick, the 4th son in a family of 6 children. He grew up in the Holton and Valley Falls area. He worked with his father and brothers farming and custom combining. Later he entered the printing business and worked in Topeka, Kansas City, and Los Angeles. He had made his home in California for the past 46 years. He enjoyed "gold dredging" as a hobby and loved playing steel guitar and fiddle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Minnie Irick, his brother, Harold and his son, Douglas. Survivors include 3 daughters, Danise Wilson of WI, Debra Bond of NV, Taone Randazzo of CA; his son, Jodie Irick of CA; 3 brothers, Howard Irick of Holton, KS, Harris Irick of Anaheim, CA and Harry Irick of Hamilton City, CA; his sister, Helen Schroder of New Bern, NC; a long time friend, May Jew of Westminster, CA; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning until service time. Memorials may be given to the Circleville Christian Church Building Fund c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
