Herbert D. Prince II, 75, of Goff, KS, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020 at his home. He was born November 24, 1944 in El Cajon, CA, the son of Herbert D. Prince I and Lillian (Clapsaddle) Prince.
Herbert graduated from high school in Guanite Hills High School in 1962 and attended San Diego State University. He proudly served in the United States Navy as an aerial photographer during the Vietnam Era from 1963 – 1968. During his time in the service, Herbert was a POW.
He lived in Goff community for 10 years and had also lived in Colorado for over 20 years. In Colorado, he worked for Concert Concepts, setting up stages for many music concerts. He enjoyed the concerts he set up, including James Brown, Highway 101, Charley Daniels, Chris LeDoux and many more. He later worked as a traffic controller for the CDOT.
Herbert married Kathleen Alice Armintrout on October 3, 2002 in Holton. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his 2 sons, Wesley Prince of San Antonio, TX and Ryan Prince of Las Vegas, NV; 2 daughters, Melody Prince of Las Vegas, NV and Jonette Armintrout (Brett Kiefer) of Goff, KS; 12 grandchildren, Troy and Trent Prince, Dylan, Nathan and Ethan Prince, Cory Albritton, Jayden Prince, Skylar and Megan Hakala and Dacota, Nicholas and Kayden Kiefer; one great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Kiefer; a sister, Dora Hayward of Pawnee Rock, KS and a brother, Glen Prince of Duncan, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jennifer Prince; a sister, Pat Prince.
Memorial Service will be at a later date. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to the Herbert Prince Memorial Fund to be designated at a later date c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
