HOLTON – Henry Clay Alsept, 69, of Holton, KS, formerly of Kansas City, MO, passed away Friday, March 13, 2009 in Holton. He was born October 30, 1939 in Jeffersonville, KY. He was the son of Abner and Mary Goodpasture Alsept. He had lived in Holton for the last 10 years. He had worked as a janitor for 47 years, and had recently worked at Harrah's and Wal-Mart.
Henry married Dorothy Christine Caldwell on February 23, 1962 in Owingsville, KY. She preceded him in death on May 9, 1993. He was preceded by a son, Darrell Wayne Alsept. He married Dixie Wells on January 2, 1994 in Olathe, KS. She survives. He is survived by a son, Henry Alsept, Jr. and his wife, Monya of St. Louis, MO; daughter, Patty Hopkins and her husband, Everett of Holton; 4 step-children; sister, Louise Payne of Liberty, KY; brothers, Vernon Alsept and Donnie Alsept both of Owingsville, KY and Paul Alsept of Florida; 8 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, and 1 step-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Wayne Alsept.
Henry will lie in state at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Private family burial will be at East Slopes Cemetery in Riverside, MO.
