Helen M. Tipton Duesler, 94 of Topeka, formerly of Wetmore died Saturday, July 17, 2010 at a Topeka nursing home. She was born August 1, 1915 in Westmoreland, the daughter of Henry and Elsie Walden Morris.
Helen graduated from Westmoreland High School in 1933. After graduating she taught school in a one room schoolhouse near Westmoreland. She then graduated from Emporia Teachers College. Helen taught at Wetmore from 1953 to 1981, when she retired. She was a member of Bancroft Community Church.
Helen married Rupert R. Tipton in 1944. He preceded her in death in 1971. She later married Doran Duesler in 1981. He preceded her in death in 1994. She was also preceded by her sisters, Celesta Tolman and Aldine Stewart. Helen is survived by her son, Harold E. "Tip" Tipton of Topeka; granddaughters, Sheila and Angie both of Topeka; 4 great-granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Ontario Cemetery. Helen will lie in state on Monday until Wednesday morning at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
