Obituary

HOLTON – Lenora Helen (Moser) Proctor, 80, of Holton, KS passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born Septemeber 8, 1931 in Horton, KS the daughter of Dr. Roy H. and Ada Merle (Cozad) Moser.

She graduated from Holton High School in 1949 and earned a degree in education from Washburn University. Helen taught two years of high school in Lincoln, KS and nine years at St. John High School in Beloit, KS. She taught sixth grade for 20 years at Jackson Heights Grade School north of Holton. While at Jackson Heights Helen received the Channel 49TV Teachers Make A difference Award. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Holton.

Helen married R.W. Bottenberg, Jr. in 1950. They divorced in 1977. She married Perl Fisher in 1979. He passed away in 1985. She married Ivan Proctor in 1987. He passed away in 1990.

Helen is survived by three children, Helen Bea Bottenberg of Grand Junction, CO, Roy Bill Bottenberg of Holton, KS and Nettie Bottenberg Whitehall of Reading, PA; a brother, Dr. Manny Moser of Holton, KS; a sister, Carol (Moser) Miller of Holton, KS; a companion, Forrest Fernkopf of Holton, KS; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Cremation is planned. A private graveside service will be at a later date in the Holton Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Heart of Jackson Humane Society, Topeka Rescue Mission or Midland Hospice House c/o Mercer Funeral Home, PO Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
