Obituary

Helen Ruth Skalicky Jilka, 96, formerly of Wilson died Sunday, December 2, 2007. She was born December 7, 1910 in Wilson, KS the daughter of Frank and Mary Adamek Skalicky.
She attended Blood Creek Country School in rural Wilson. She had lived in Brookville and moved back to Wilson in 1957. Helen was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Wilson and attended Bucks Grove United Methodist Church, Havensville, KS. She was a member of JCD Lodge Luna #134 in Wilson.
Helen married Milo Jilka on November 7, 1934 in Wilson. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1985. She was also preceded by a sister, Emma Karban. Helen is survived by a daughter, Joyce Immenschuh of Holton, KS; grandchildren Dennis Immenschuh and his wife Kate of Holton and Denise Mitchell and her husband Ryan of Lenexa.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2007 at Foster Mortuary in Wilson. Burial will be in the Wilson Cemetery. The family will greet friends Tuesday evening from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorials may be given to Bucks Grove United Methodist Church, Havensville or the Presbyterian Church in Wilson and sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
