Helen Duffy
TOPEKA-Helen Duffy, 93, of Topeka died on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at her home. She was born July 18, 1913 in Soldier, the daughter of Gottlieb and Dora Esther Mondt Sigg. Helen graduated from Soldier High School in 1932 and attended Emporia State Teachers College. She later taught elementary school near Soldier for several years and was also a farmwife and homemaker. Helen lived in Circleville for many years and was a member of Circleville UMC.
She married Harry W. Duffy on May 29, 1938 in Eskridge; he preceded her in death in 1981. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Long and husband, Keith of Meriden, KS; sisters, Jean Tolin, Holton, KS and Marjorie Willis, Oakdale, LA; granddaughters, Buffy Croucher, Scranton, KS and Becky Croucher, Topeka, KS; great granddaughters, Paige Croucher, Samatha Croucher, Taylor Croucher and Katie Croucher.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2007 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Holton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Helen Duffy Memorial Fund, c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
