Harry Thomas Bottle, 94, of Holton, KS passed away December 4, 2013 at Medicalodge Jackson County. He was born April 3, 1919 in Tacoma, WA the son of Raymond F. and Nina (Wells) Bottle.
Harry graduated from high school in Elbe, WA. After graduation he was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served his country from 1941 -1945 during WWII. He served as First Sergeant in the Medical Corps at McClellan AFB, CA. Harry later received his accounting degree at a local college. He owned and operated his own accounting firm and worked for Warren Buffet/Berkshire Hathaway investment companies. Harry traveled the country helping various businesses succeed. Harry was a businessman and entrepreneur, an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who was generous to everyone.
He married Elizabeth J. March in June 1942; she preceded him in death in January 1994. Harry later married Etta A. Bryers in November 1997; she preceded him in death on October 1, 2009. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve Bishop and a brother, George R. Bottle.
Survivors include a son, Thomas "Rick" F. Bottle and his wife Cindy of Holton, KS; a daughter, Nanette R. Bottle-Robertson of Harmony, NC; 5 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Harry enjoyed life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Holton. Inurnment at Forest Lawn Cemetery (in Glendale, CA) will be at a later date.
