Harold P. "Poodle" Sauvage, 75, of Topeka, KS formerly of Havensville, KS passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018. He was born in 1943 the son of Ralph G. Sauvage and Opal (Bolin) Thrasher.
Harold attended Havensville High School. He retired from Iron Workers Local 10 and later retired from Kansas Department of Transportation in 2005.
Harold married Susan "Sue" Whelchel in 1978 in Topeka. She survives of the home. Other survivors include 3 daughters, Carol Degenhardt, Cheryl Bergman (Eddie) and Sheila Sauvage all of Topeka, KS; 3 step-sons, James Lloyd (Kathleen) of Las Cruces, NM, Jeffery Lloyd (Kay) of Ottumwa, IA and John Lloyd (Jennifer) of Ozawkie, KS; a sister, Rosalie Ingram of Texhoma, OK; 2 brothers, Karl Sauvage (Dee) of Onaga, KS and Gordon Sauvage (Laura) of Flagstaff, AZ; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Shirley Randel and Glenda Bosse and a grandson, Larry Lone
Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service time. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Helping Hands Humane Society c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
