Obituary

Harold W. Pace, Sr., 88, of Holton, KS, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020 at The Pines South in Holton. He was born May 26, 1932 in Muscotah, KS, the son of Ezekial B. "E.B." and Helen Elizabeth (Starr) Pace.

Harold attended school in Effingham. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1953 -1955 during the Korean Conflict. Harold worked at Goodyear Tire Company for many years in the receiving department; retiring in 1994. He also farmed for most of his life.

He attended Muscotah Methodist Church and was a member of United Steel Workers Local #307.

Harold married Ruth "Mary" Pace on October 1, 1960 in Topeka. They celebrated 58 years of marriage, before she passed on March 21, 2018. He was also preceded in death by a son, Harold W. Pace, Jr. on March 12, 2014; 3 sisters, Mary Helen Pace, Virginia Hansford and Grace Lavone Rodrick and 2 brothers, Francis and Robert Pace.

Survivors include a son, Raymond W. Pace and a daughter, Patricia L.  Davis both of Holton, KS.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls, KS. Burial with Military Honors by Grahem-Herbers VFW Post 3084 will follow at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Holton Community Hospital Hospice c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 6, Valley Falls, KS 66088.
