Obituary

Harlan E. Bowser, Sr., 86, formerly of Mayetta, KS passed away October 4, 2013 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha. He was born May 29, 1927 in Hoyt, KS the son of Henry and Florence (Early) Bowser.

Harlan graduated from Northeast High School and graduated from Pioneer Community College. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. Harlan owned and operated Bowser Printing Company in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Holton and a member of Holton Lions Club serving as PDG Governor.

He married Betty Jo Haney on April 13, 1952 in Independence, Missouri. She survives of the home. Other survivors include a daughter, Roxanna Day of Overland Park, KS; a son, Harlan E. Bowser, Jr. of Kansas City, MO; and 4 grandchildren, Breanna, Kayla and Aaron Day and Mariah Bowser.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 9:00-9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton and will go to the cemetery in procession.
