GREGG ROBERT TOLIN
TOPEKA- Gregg Robert "Teapot" Tolin, 60, of Topeka, formerly of Holton, died Monday, January 21, 2008 at his home. He was born April 10, 1947 in Topeka, KS, the son of Lyle Layton and Geraldine "Jean" Sigg Tolin.
Gregg graduated from Holton High School in 1965 and attended Kansas State University and Emporia State University. He received the Eagle Scout Award in 1964 and served in the Army National Guard for 7 years. He had lived in Topeka since 1968 where he worked for Santa Fe and later for BNSF Railroad in their general offices. He retired in August of 2004.
Gregg was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend to all who knew him.
He was married to Patricia Cline on August 30, 1975 at the Highland Park United Methodist Church in Topeka. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his mother, Geraldine "Jean" Tolin of Holton, KS; his son, Patrick Tolin and his wife, Katie of Lawrence, KS; his daughter, Lindsay Parker and her husband, Damon of Merriam, KS; his brothers, Daryl Tolin of Holton, KS, Bryce Tolin of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and his grandson, Strother Patrick Tolin. He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle Tolin in 1984.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Holton. Private family interment will be at a later date. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
