SOLDIER-Grace A. Holliday, age 89, of Soldier, KS passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008 at The Pines in Holton, KS. She was born November 23, 1918 in Sabetha, KS, the daughter of Lee and Hazel Wempe Goldsberry.
Grace graduated from Soldier High School in 1937. She was a homemaker and was a lifelong resident of the Soldier community. She was a member of the Soldier Christian Church and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a past member of the Friendship Club and the EHU in Soldier.
She married Leonard William Holliday on March 5, 1939 in Soldier, KS. He passed away on January 8, 1965. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Leonard Gene Holliday on October 27, 1995 and 2 brothers, Glen and Gene Goldsberry.
Survivors include 3 daughters; Glenda Coe (Kyle), Joan Hill (Rusty) and Linda VanDonge (Larry), all of Soldier; a son, Larry Holliday (Andra), of Soldier; daughter-in-law, Charlene, of Soldier; 18 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the Soldier Christian Church. Interment will be in the Soldier Cemetery. Visitation will be 7 – 8:30 Wednesday evening at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
