Obituary

Glenn Alan Perry, 76, of Topeka, KS, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Artia Hearthstone. He was born October 1, 1945 in Livingston, Montana, the son of Dick Chester Perry, and Helen Eileen (Borden) Perry.

Glenn attended Clyde Park for elementary school and graduated from Park High School in Livingston, MT and attended Montana State University. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1965-1967.

Glenn was a hard worker and always had multiple jobs in and around Livingston. He especially liked to work with his brothers in the woods as a logger, mechanic and equipment operator. Glenn worked for the Truck Stop in Livingston for almost twenty years before being hired at the railroad.

Glenn worked as a machinist for Burlington Northern Railroad in Livingston, Montana for many years before being transferred to Galesburg, Ill. in 1985 when the Livingston shops were closed. Glenn was transferred again to Topeka, KS as a result of the Burlington Northern / Santa Fe merger. Glenn retired in Topeka in 2007 / 2008.

Glenn was a member of Manhattan Lodge #59 in Manhattan, Montana and was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason in that lodge, by his brother Art Perry. Glenn was a two-time Past Master of A. Lincoln Lodge No. 518 A.F. & A.M. in Kirkwood, IL and a life-time member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Sweet Briar Chapter No. 49, in Manhattan, MT.

Glenn loved the outdoors and always loved to look for wildlife in all parts of the country with his family. He loved to camp, fish and take photographs and videos of his many outings.

He married Lynn Kay Kruse on April 6 th , 1981; they later divorced. She preceded him in death on April 12, 2020. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Helen Perry of Livingston, Montana and a sister, Peggy Zierlein of Bend, Oregon and partner Margret Settle, of Mayetta, Kansas.

Survivors include his son, Mike Perry (Nicole) of Sacramento, CA; grandson, Justin C. Turley (Alana) of Norman, OK; great-grandson, Hunter Turley and four brothers, Dick C. Perry, Sr. (Cara) and Jess Perry (Goldie) of Livingston, MT, Art Perry (Alice) of Hardin, MT and Charles Perry of Deerpark, WA. Five nephews Dick Perry, Jr. (Lynn), Artie Perry, Alan Perry (Julie), Chuck Perry (Julie), Russell Perry. Six nieces Nora Perry, Marsha Perry, Arleen Shea, Debbie Dixon (Jerry), Kathy Zierlein and Nancy Kemp. Along with several great nieces and nephews.

Glenn was cremated. Private Family Memorial Service will be in Montana. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is assisting the family.
