Glen Leroy Rash, 78, of Circleville, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2006 at the Holton Community Hospital after losing a battle with cancer.
He was born June 8, 1928 at Soldier. He was the son of Zack and Ruey Porter Rash. He attended Anderson School at Soldier and graduated from Circleville High School in 1946. He was a member of the Circleville United Methodist Church, Circleville Saddle Club, and the Circleville Fire Department. He was also a member of NARFE, the Mustang Camping Club, and Jackson County Storm Watchers. He served in the United States Air Force.
He worked in Holton at the Ford Garage, Dannenberg Implement, BMB, and he retired from Alamo Group. He was also a farmer and stockman.
Glen married Doris Jane Fernkopf on October 6, 1950 in Holton. She survives. Other survivors include sons, Harmon L. Rash and his wife Debra of Holton and Michael F. Rash and his wife Kay of Circleville; grandchildren, Micah Rash and her fiancé Justin Moore, Austin Rash and his wife Nicole, Jason Rash and Trent Rash; and great-grandchildren, Mark Mavrovich and Jarrett-Wayne Moore.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert William Rash in 1980 and a sister, Mary Maxine "Billy" Moore.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Circleville Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:30 -7:30 Monday evening. Memorials may be given to Jackson County Friends of Hospice, Circleville Alumni Association, or Circleville United Methodist Church and sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
