HOLTON- Gladys Bruns, 78, of Holton, died Thursday, January 3, 2008 at a Topeka hospital. She was born February 13, 1929 in Winchester, KS, the daughter of Rollo and Grace Ray Trower.
She grew up in the Winchester and Atchison area and had lived in the Holton area for over 50 years.
Gladys was married to Bill Bruns on July 13, 1947 in Atchison, KS. He died February 5, 1991. She was also preceded in death by 2 sister Ruby and Louise and 2 brothers Clifford and John.
Survivors include her son, Ed Bruns and wife, Lynnette; her daughter, Shirley Teal and husband, Kenny both of Holton, KS; her granddaughter, Renee Drossel and husband, Jason; great-granddaughter, Olivia Drossel; 6 sisters Martha Boles, Sharon Burton, Margaret McHaley, Linda Pennington, Freda DeBay, Nellie Moore; 3 brothers Earl Trower, Don Trower and Mike Trower.
Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2008 at the Holton Cemetery. The family will greet friends beginning at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton before going in procession to the cemetery.
