Obituary

Georgina "Georgia" Ann Margerate "Morning Star" Perry, 84, of Topeka, KS passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 at her daughter's home in Mayetta. She was born March 14, 1933 in St. Ignatius, MT the daughter of George Leroy and Mary (Vallee) O'Bennick.

Georgia attended schools in Montana and later earned her G.E.D. in Topeka. Georgia and her husband, David, were owners and operators of Perry's Tree Service for over 35 years.

She was a member of the Confederate Salish Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Reservation in Montana. She also attended Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mayetta.

Georgia married David Hartley Perry in 1966 at Topeka. He preceded her in death in February 2002. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Georgia O'Bennick and Beverly Lamoose and 4 brothers, Richard, Leroy and Justin O'Bennick and David Lamoose.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Jean Howley (Alen) of Mayetta, KS and Valerie Gruhlke of Topeka, KS; a son, David "Joshua" Perry of Iola, KS and 10 grandchildren, including Charlie Perry, whom she helped raise.

Private family memorial service will be at a later date. Memorials may be given to Great Lake Hospice (formerly Grace Hospice) c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
