MOORE

HOLTON – George Edward Moore, 88, died Friday, May 25, 2007 at a Holton nursing home. He was born March 11, 1919 south of Larkinburg, KS, the son of Harry and Sarah Ann Yarger Moore. He farmed near Denison and Larkinburg. In the early 1960's he went to work as a shear operator at United Manufacturing in Topeka, and later worked for the Seymour Company in Topeka. After his retirement he worked as a groundskeeper at the Holton Country Club.
George married Eunice Mae Mick on August 11, 1941 in Holton. She survives. He is survived by sons, Lynn E. Moore and his wife Darlene and Mickey D. Moore and his wife Lynda all of Holton; grandchildren, Desiree Moore, Shannon Schmille, Brandy Moore, Angela Moore, Monica Moore, J.W. McGrew, and William McGrew; several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by sisters, Mary E. Kjellberg, Eleanor C. Stallard, and Ida M. Robbins; brothers, Harry J. Moore Jr., Charles E. Moore, and John A. Moore.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Alzheimer's Association c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436. www.mercerfuneralhomes.com
