Obituary

George Douglas Harding, 92, of Holton, KS, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born March 4, 1929 in Marlow, OK, the son of Curtis John and Hetti Elizabeth (Tuckey) Harding.

George graduated from Central High School in 1948 at Marlow, OK. He was a carpenter most of his life working for Whelan's Lumber Company, Lee & Butell Construction and Topeka Mill Work all in Topeka, KS.

Survivors include 2 sons, Gary R. Harding (Sharon) of Meriden, KS and Alan "Keith" Harding (Terri) of Mayetta, KS; a daughter, Sherri Steinlage (Daniel) of Corning, KS; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Hetti Harding; a sister, Margaret Dorr and 3 brothers, Curtis, Henry and James Harding.

Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Holton Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorials may be given to the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Corning or Holton Community Hospital c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
