Obituary

George Albert Griffin, 80, of Topeka, KS, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Lexington Park Assisted Living in Topeka, KS. He was born March 12, 1942 in San Diego, CA, the son of Albert Vernon and Laura Bernice (Hamilton) Griffin.

George graduated from Highland Park High School in 1961. He worked for Goodyear Tire Company for over 36 years, as a tire builder and educator for new employees.

He loved playing cards, bowling, fishing, watching woman's basketball and most all sports.

Survivors include his beloved long-time companion, Darlene Haslouer; half-brother, Eric Griffin; 4 half-sisters, Debbie Griffin, Lou Ann Griffin, Sara McGinnis and Coleen Ferdig.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2022 at the Valley Falls United Methodist Church. A luncheon will be provided immediately following the service. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Rochester Cemetery in Topeka, KS. Visitation will be 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Memorials may be given to the Washburn Women's Basketball c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 6, Valley Falls, KS 66088.
