GEORGE WESLEY CONSER

George Wesley Conser, 63, Valley Falls, died Thursday, November 2, 2006, at Village Villa in Nortonville.
He was born Jan. 22, 1943, at Holton, the son of Roy E. and Adeline Sewell Conser. He graduated from Valley Falls high school in 1961.
George was an equipment operator at the State of Kansas Printing Plant in Topeka, before retiring with a medical disability. He worked for the Brown County Soil Conservation District. He was a truck driver for harvest crews, a mail hauling contractor and a milk hauler. He worked for Roy Baker Quarry and Steinmetz Service, both in Valley Falls.
He was a member of the Valley Falls United Methodist Church, the American Legion in Ozawkie, and was a charter member of the Valley Falls Jaycees. He was an Assistant Troop Leader for Boy Scout Troop 84. He served in the Kansas National Guard as a cook for the 69th Infantry Brigade.
George will be remembered for his love of Westerns, reading, rodeo and family as well as his contagious laugh.
He was preceded in death by a foster sister, Rose Marie Brown.
Survivors include a brother, William R. Conser and his wife Ann, Valley Falls; a foster sister, Agnes Patterson, Athens, TX; two nephews, Andy Conser and J.R. Conser, both of Valley Falls; a great nephew and a great niece.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 4, 2006, at the Valley Falls United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls.
