George "LeRoy" Burget, 76, of Holton passed away April 21, 2009 at his home. He was born October 13, 1932 in Mayetta, KS; the son of Homer E. and Celia Tillie Millenbruch Burget. He graduated from Mayetta High School and had lived in the Holton community most of his life. He retired from Goodyear Tire Co. in 1998 building Earthmover Tires. He was a member of the Larkinburg Christian Church.
LeRoy married Betty Porter on August 7, 1955 in Topeka, they divorced. He later married Dorothy H. MacArthur Beatty on September 19, 1977 in Holton, KS; she passed away November 20, 2007.
Survivors include 3 sons, Tim Burget (Mary) of Mulvane, KS, David Burget of Spotsylvania, VA, Richard Burget of Manhattan, KS; a daughter, Kathy Niedfeldt (Ervin) of Belvue, KS; a step son, Raymond Beatty of Holton, KS; a step daughter, Linda Beatty of Anchorage, AK; a sister, Geneva Tosh of Holton, KS; a brother, Melvin E. Burget of Topeka, KS; 10 grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2009 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6:00 – 7:30p.m. Sunday evening.
