GEORGE R. BRENNER

HOLTON- George Raymond Brenner, 73, of Holton, KS passed away April 15, 2010 at his home. He was born December 1, 1936 in Arrington, KS the son of Ralph Adam and Elsie Mae Auxier Brenner. He attended Arrington Grade School and graduated from Effingham High School in 1954. He had lived in Holton since 1992 and previously in Arrington.
George was a lifelong farmer and stockman and he worked for Sante Fe Railroad as a car man welder for over 20 years. He served in the Army National Guard. He was a past member of the American Legion Post #44 in Holton and a past member of the Carmen's Union at Sante Fe.
He married Rosemary Grannell on November 18, 1955 in Atchison, KS; she survives. Other survivors include a son, Daniel A. Brenner and his wife Marcia of Holton; a daughter, Pamela Rae Hatesohl and her husband Mark of Manhattan, KS; a brother, Charles R. Brenner of Arrington, KS; 6 grandchildren, Michelle, Fielding, Jessica Rae, Georgia Rose, Kari and Ricky and 4 great grandchildren, Brittaney, Shelbey, Gabby and Ethan.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Larkinburg Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Holton Community Hospital Hospice or Heart of Jackson Humane Society c/o Mercer Funeral Home P.O.
