Lloyd Eugene "Gene" Richards, 74, of Berryton, KS passed away January 7, 2016 at his home. He had also lived in Goff and Topeka. He was born October 23, 1941 the son of James E. and Bertha Ann (Ruse) Richards.

Gene had attended Topeka High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy. Gene worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the American Legion Post #400.

Survivors include his mother, Bertha Ann Richards of Topeka, KS; his companion, Rose Chapman of Topeka, KS and a brother, Bryan L. "Buzz" Richards.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery at Goff. Memorials may be given to a humane society of your choice c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
