Gavin Wade Royer, 33, of Valley Falls, KS, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024. He was born October 30, 1991 in Winchester, KS, the son of Gary Wade Royer and Deanna Rae (Hobbs) Volle.
He graduated from McLouth High School in 2010. Gavin has been a lifelong resident of Jefferson County; however, Valley Falls is where his heart was.
Gavin was a Corrections Officer for the Juvenile Detention Center in Topeka. Previously he worked for Industrial Maintenance, Inc. in Topeka as a saw operator for 4 years.
He was very much a hands-on type of guy, never afraid of tackling any task. No job was too big or small for his talents. Gavin loved to work on old cars and motorcycles. He was a Ham Radio operator, enjoyed shooting guns, camping and all things outdoors.
Gavin married the love of his life, Aspen Glynn Huffman on March 6, 2022, in Topeka, KS.
Survivors include his wife Aspen of the home; father, Gary Wade Royer (Carla) of McLouth, Ks; mother, Deanna Rae Volle (Dan) of Atchison, Ks; 2 sisters, Khloe Volle and Jodi Moore (Alex) all of Atchison, KS, and a brother, Christopher Royer (Corbin) of North Pole, AK.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will follow at Valley Falls Cemetery. The family will greet friends 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Aspen Royer c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
