HOLTON- Gary Dale Collins, 52, of Holton, KS, passed away Monday, May 26, 2008 at a Topeka hospital after a long illness. He was born October 10, 1955 in Holton, the son of Don and the late Faye Collins. He graduated from Holton High School in 1974 and lived most of his life in the Holton community.
Mr. Collins worked as a truck driver for Keim and Koch trucking companies in Sabetha, KS. He later was self-employed as a painter and roofer for Collins Painting and Roofing in Holton. He was a member of Lakeview Faith Chapel south of Holton.
He was married to Edwina Nott in 1994. They were later divorced. He is survived by his father, Don Collins of Holton, KS; his sons, Matthew Collins of Wetmore, KS and Garrett Collins of Salina, KS; his daughter, Katelynn Faye Collins of Topeka, KS; his step-daughter, Angel Richards of Bucksport, ME; his brothers, Donnie Collins and Roger Collins both of Holton, KS; his sister, Linda Floyd of Topeka, KS; 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will be in Holton Cemetery. His family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Lakeview Faith Chapel c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
