GARY R. BALDWIN

Gary R. Baldwin, 70, of Topeka, formerly of Holton, died Sunday, April 23, 2006 at his home. He was born March 16, 1936 in Holton, the son of Glenn A. and Clara R. Post Baldwin. He graduated from Holton High School in 1954.
Gary worked as a painter for U.S.D. 501 for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of Terra Heights Baptist Church in Topeka and enjoyed his family and bowling.
He was married to Doris I. Hayes in 1955 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include his children, Rose Jackson of Wakarusa, Terry Baldwin of Topeka, Deborah Meggison of Berryton and Rexann Myers and Gary J. Baldwin both of Topeka, his brother, Max Baldwin of Wichita, 9 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amy, a grandson, Glenn, a great-grandson, Bradley, brothers, Glenn E. Baldwin and Harold Baldwin and a sister, Marvel Butterfield.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery east of St. Clere. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Midland Hospice c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
