Gale Elizabeth Slimmer Karns, 71, of Holton, KS passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 at Holton Community Hospital. Ms. Karns was born August 26, 1944 in Holton, KS the daughter of Lawrence and LaVerna (Drechsler) Slimmer.

Ms. Karns graduated from Holton High School in 1962, and from Clark's School of Business, Topeka, in 1963. She worked for the State of Kansas for 41 years, retiring in 2004.

She was a member of the Evangel United Methodist Church and Seekers Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her son, Philip Karns and his wife, Tina of Auburn, KS; 2 grandchildren, Rebecca Marie and Daniel Williams Karns; 2 brothers, Lawrence Slimmer, Jr. and his wife Lorna of Hiawatha, KS and Stephen Slimmer and his wife Sheryl of Holton, KS; 6 nephews, many great nieces and nephews; and 1 great-great-niece.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton with burial to follow in the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends Monday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
