George Warren " G.W." Stark, 91, of Leawood, Kansas passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2009. He was born April 11, 1917 in Cicero, Illinois, the son of George William and Lillian Dorothy Ehlers Stark.
He attended grade school in Riverside, Illinois and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio in 1935. He later attended Penn College in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was married to Geneva Marie Lay on May 10, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio. He worked as a District Sales Manager in the Cleveland area. He later transferred to Louisville, Kentucky and then to Kansas City. In 1961, they moved to Syracuse, New York where he established a Manufacturers Sales Agency and later became Partner and Vice President of the Syracuse Restaurant Supply Company. He retired in 1984 and moved to Kansas City in 1985 after his wife, Genny passed away. Warren married Annita Kruse in 1986 in Kansas City.
Warren is survived by his wife, Annita Kruse Stark; his daughters, Sharon E. Pickard and husband, Guy, Janice Stark Chapman and husband, Steve; Annita's daughter, Jerryn Hamill and husband, Robert; 4 grandchildren, Bill and Chris Mercer, Lisa Chapman Smith and Andrew Stark Chapman; 6 great-grandchildren, Alex Lenear Mercer, Kaleb Lee Smith, Grant Christopher and Megan Elizabeth Mercer and Wesley Scott, Ty Radley and Brooke Caroline Smith.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the Colonial Presbyterian Church, 9500 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
