Fredrick Irwin Triggs, 97, Lawrence, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at a Lawrence care facility.
He was born Sept. 26, 1911, at Valley Falls, the son of John R. and Lora Crowe Triggs. He graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1930, and served in the US Navy during WW II.
Irwin had worked as a butler in Alabama. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Rawland Triggs and Norman Triggs, and three sisters, Olaf Cadwalader, Myrl Hoffman, Opal Jones and Nancy Allan.
No services are planned. Burial of cremains will be at the Valley Falls Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences are at www.mercerfuneralhomes.com
