Francis A Young, 87, of Holton, KS passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013 in Holton. He was born November 5, 1926 in Beattie, KS the son of Joseph and Elmie (Miller) Young.

Francis graduated from Westmoreland High School in 1944. He retired from Flexel in Tecumseh. Francis was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Banner Grange and had worked with the area Boy Scouts.

Francis married Jane Miltenberger on May 23, 1948 in Nashua, IA; she preceded him in death on August 17, 1993. He was also preceded in death by his son, Steve Young on July 11, 2013. Francis married Doris Bareiss Coffman on August 3, 1996 in Holton, KS she survives of the home. Other survivors include 2 sons, Douglas Young (Kim) of Topeka and Greg Young (Terri) of Holton; a step-daughter, Teresa Rowell (Monte) of Andover; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Young of Topeka; 4 grandchildren, Breann Hinman (Andrew), Donovan Young (Kelli), Christopher Young (Alexandra) and Brittany Young; 2 step-grandchildren, Adam Rowell (Jessica) and Seth Rowell; 3 great-grandchildren, Lorelai Young, Hendricks Young and Brooklyn Hinman and a step-great-granddaughter, Riley Grace Rowell.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton with Pastor Dennis Paschke and Pastor Bob Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
