Francis T. "Frank" Shopteese, Jr., 77, of Mayetta, KS, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024 in Topeka. He was born November 18, 1947 in Abilene, KS, the son of Francis T. Shopteese, Sr. and Margaret (Childs) Shopteese.

Frank graduated from Amarillo High School in Amarillo, TX. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.

He worked as a salesman for Phillips Lighting in Alburquerque, NM. Frank moved to the Prairie Band Potawatomi Reservation in 1997, working and volunteering for We-Ta-Se Post 410.

Frank was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and We-Ta-Se Post 410.

Survivors include his longtime companion, Arlene Lingo of Mayetta, KS; 2 sons, Eric Shopteese (Leigh) and Brandon Shopteese both of Borger, TX; daughter, Amber Shopteese of Borger, TX; brother, Michael Shopteese (Nancy) of Amarillo, TX and 5 grandchildren, Chase, Star, Alex, Shylah and Stormy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Margaret Shopteese and a brother, Gregory Shopteese.

Graveside Service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 16, 2024 at the Shipshee Cemetery with Military Honors by We-Ta-Se Post 410. Frank will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 15, 2024 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorials may be given to We-Ta-Se Post 410 c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
