HOLTON- Francis "Everett" Jones, 90, of Holton passed away January 4, 2010 in Holton. He was born June 23, 1919 in Wetmore, KS the son of Frank Francis and Mary E. Spicher Jones.
He had lived in the Holton area since 1951 and previously lived in the Wetmore community. He was a farmer, stockman and had retired from Goodyear Tire Company after working 30 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #555 in Topeka and enjoyed dancing and his morning and afternoon coffee groups.
Everett married Selma Anna Rannebeck on December 24, 1941; she passed away May 12, 1981. He then married Lila Rannebeck on June 5, 1982 in Topeka. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Sharolyn Paxton on June 24, 2009; a sister, Ruby Clarkson; two brothers, Lincoln and Dale Jones and a great granddaughter, Nicole Rae Amon.
Survivors include his wife, Lila Rannebeck of the home; a son, Larry Jones (Kathy) of Holton, KS; a daughter, LouAnn Porter (David) of Mayetta, KS; three step-daughters, Duranna Crouch of Topeka, KS, Debbie Richmond of Lyndon, KS, Diane Mosier of St. Marys, KS; a step-son, Dennis Rannebeck of Lawrence, KS; a brother, Harold Jones of Goff, KS; 10 grandchildren; 10 step- grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 20 step- great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Netawaka Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service time.
