JONES
HOYT—Forrest E. "Frosty" Jones, 79, of Hoyt, died Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at a care facility in Topeka. He was born February 1, 1927 on a farm near Netawaka, Kansas, the son of Carl and H. Leona Prewett Jones.
Frosty graduated from Wetmore High School in 1945 and attended Kansas State University. He had lived in Hoyt since 1969 and previously lived in Topeka. He was a paratrooper for the United State Army during World War II. He worked at Goodyear for over 30 years and retired in 1989.
He married Carole Eubanks on August 20, 1964 in Topeka. She died November 20, 1999. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers Carl Leroy Jones and William S. Jones.
Survivors include 3 sons, Forrest E. Jones II of Ovid, MI, William Jones of Hoyt, KS, James Jones of Ovid, MI; a daughter, Cara Evans of Holton, KS; a sister, Lenamaye Williams of Whiting, KS and 4 grandchildren.
Family visitation will be 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2006 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Cremation is planned after visitation. Private family burial will be in the Hoyt Cemetery.
