Holton-Floyd Milford Scheid, 54, of Holton, died Monday, January 21, 2008 at his home after an extended illness.
He was born June 13, 1953 in Holton, the son of Milford Louis and Beverly Ann Campbell Scheid. He was baptized on July 5, 1953 in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Holton. Floyd attended Philo (District #7, east of Holton); Larkinburg and Denison Grade Schools; also Denison and Holton High Schools. He had lived in Holton all of his life working in concrete construction. He worked for Sullivan Construction Co. in Holton for 18 years and later worked for Emerson Construction Co. in Topeka until October 15, 2004 due to a disability.
He had many interests and hobbies. Floyd enjoyed traveling, gardening, small engine repair, woodworking, the outdoors, hiking and exploring.
He married Roseann Mack on July 1, 1978 in Jackson County, KS. She survives. Other survivors include 3 sisters Vivian Auten, Roxann Howerton and Delores Wessel all of Holton, KS; 2 brothers Donald Scheid and Anthony Scheid both of Holton, KS; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends Wednesday evening from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
