SLATTERY

Florence Slattery, 93, of Holton, formerly of Mayetta, died Monday, July 24, 2006 at Medicalodges Jackson County.
She was born December 7, 1912 in Mayetta, the daughter of Clyde and Alma Hanson Tork. She attended Miller School near Mayetta.
Mrs. Slattery lived most of her life in the Mayetta and Hoyt communities where she was a farmwife and homemaker. She later did janitorial work for Royal Valley schools in Hoyt. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Mayetta and the Altar Society at the church.
She was married to Bernard Slattery on February 24, 1936 in Holton. Bernard died September 1, 1971. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Grace Rickel Folger and an infant sister, Ethel. She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2006 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Mayetta. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Hoyt. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening followed by visitation at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorials may be given to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Mayetta.
