EMMETT- Fern H. Rice, 88, of Emmett, KS passed away October 11, 2012 at Crestview Manor in Seneca, KS. She was born June 11, 1924 in Butler, MO the daughter of Wilson and Rinda (Robbins) Hinkle.
Fern had lived in the Emmett community since 1954 as a farmwife.
She married Maurice E. Rice on October 10, 1954 in Parsons, KS. He survives. She is also survived by 2 sons, Jerry Rice of Bern, KS and Ernest Rice of Havensville, KS and a sister, Ardell of MO. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Rice on November 13, 2008; she was also preceded by 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in St. Clere Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Assoc. c/o Mercer Funeral Home P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
