It was there she met her future husband, Frank Kaul, who was an engineer student at K-State University. He was a substitute date for his brother. They married on April 30, 1944 and they spent their first 3 years of marriage while he served in the Army Air Corps during WW2. Their only child, Linda, was born while stationed in Meridian, Mississippi. They returned to K-State after the service for her husband to complete his engineering degree. After graduation they remained in Kansas as her husband was employed by Halliburton Company in El Dorado & Wichita. They moved to Amarillo, TX in 1968 with his company and she became employed by the Northwest Texas Hospital in the Personnel Department. She retired at age 72 but continued to be active as a volunteer at Polk Street Methodist Church in Amarillo. Frank & she celebrated their 60th anniversary before he passed away in 2004. She then moved to Garden Ridge, TX to be near her daughter's family. She thoroughly enjoyed being part of the active lives of her 3 grandsons and 2 great-grandchildren.
