CARNAHAN
HOLTON—Evelyn Frances Carnahan, 89, of Holton, died February 27, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
She was born February 18, 1917 in Twin Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Lewis and Marguerite Calcut Carnahan. She attended Central School and Holton High School. She was a lifelong resident of Holton. Evelyn worked for Allard and Blackburn Plumbing and later worked for the Holton Recorder as a type setter in advertising for 23 years, she retired in August of 1985.
She was a member of the Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton and sang in the choir for many years. She was also a member of the King's Daughter's Sunday School Class, Faith-Faust Circle at the church, Order of Eastern Star Chapter #152 where she served as Worthy Matron 5 times and Past Guardian of Job's Daughters Bethel 65.
Survivors include 2 brothers, Edward Carnahan of Albuquerque, NM, Robert Carnahan of Lewes, DE; and approximately 33 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2006 at the Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorials may be given to the E.U.M. Church sent c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
