VALLEY FALLS-Evalena Aloma "Eva" Fox, 75, of Valley Falls, KS, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. She was born July 8, 1947 in David City, NE, the daughter of Eulis and Alice M. (Hill) Staggs.

Eva attended David City High School. She lived over 40 years in the Valley Falls community and previously in Nebraska and Iowa. For 27 years, she was a school bus driver for Valley Falls School District #338. Eva was a laborer, truck driver and "Road Mom" for Wildcat Concrete and a homemaker and farmwife.

She was a member of the Rock Creek Bible Church in Meriden, belonging to many women's groups at the church.

Eva married Vernie Ernest Fox on September 26, 1964 in Columbus, NE. They celebrated over 58 years of marriage.

Survivors include her husband, Vernie of the home; son, Vernie "Jr." Fox (Kristin) of Meriden, KS; 2 sisters, Cindy Wolfe (Dan Harris) of Columbus, NE and Linda Cech (Duane) of Schuyler, NE; 2 brothers, Richard Staggs and David Staggs both of Lincoln, NE; 8 grandchildren, Ashley, Cassandra, Kaely, Brina, Vernie Colton, Shay, Taegan and Tymber; 6 great-grandchildren, Macie, Winston, Elliana, Ebben, McKinley and Eleanor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eulis and Alice Staggs; daughter, Lynn Marie Fox; son, Daniel Eugene Fox and 2 sisters, Marylyn Lucille Staggs and Alice Marie Roberts.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2022 at Rock Creek Bible Church in Meriden. Family will greet friends from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Cremation will follow the service.
