Obituary

Eva Irene Schreiber, 92, of Soldier, KS passed away December 28, 2014 at her home. She was born March 29, 1922 in Wetmore, KS the daughter of Johnathon Littleton and Cordelia Edith (Hetherington) Davis.

Eva attended country schools and had lived in the Wetmore and Soldier areas all her life. She was a homemaker, farmer and stockwoman.

Eva was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Netawaka where she was a member of the Lutheran Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Soldier Women's Card Club and Soldier Lions Club.

She married Leon Gerald Schreiber on April 6, 1938 in Hiawatha. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1965.

Survivors include a son, Gary Schreiber (Annette) of Soldier; 4 daughters, Debra Rash (Harmon) of Circleville, Leota Wilkerson (Steve) of Circleville, Lavon Keehn (Ernest) of Wetmore, Bonnie White (Jim) of Yelm, WA; a sister, Evelyn Strough of Sabetha; 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Besides her husband, Eva was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Lillian Horton, Donna Savage, Edith Allen and Julia Laverence and 3 brothers, Jack, Raymond and Freeman Davis.

Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Netawaka with burial to follow in the Soldier Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, for lunch, at the Netawaka Community Center. Memorials may be given to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or Holton Community Hospital Hospice c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
