Ethel M. Paddock, 92, of Holton, died Friday, April 14, 2006 at Gran Villas Assisted Living in Holton. She was born December 4, 1913 in Blue Mound, KS, the daughter of Carl Roy and Rettie Mitchell McGee. She lived in Kansas all her life except for a few years in California. She was a homemaker and mother. Ethel was a Grange member, 4-H Leader and church worker. She was a member of the Wall Street Christian Church in Mound City, KS most of her life. She had attended the Evangel United Methodist Church while in Holton and belonged to Faith-Faust Circle at the church.
Ethel married Harry L. Paddock on December 13, 1940 in California. In 1997, Harry and Ethel moved to Holton. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Earl J. McGee. Survivors include her daughters, Judy Strawn and her husband, Maurice of Holton, KS and Elsie Ray and her husband, Kenneth of Abilene, TX, 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2006 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
