Eric Dean Spaar, 51, of Holton, KS passed away February 4, 2013 north of Burlington, KS due to an accident at his construction work site. He was born October 30, 1961 in Peoria, IL the son of Richard V. and Ruby P. (Taylor) Spaar.

Eric graduated from Holton High School in 1980 and had lived most of his life in Holton. He worked for Midwest Construction in Holton for 28 years. He also worked at Northern Pipeline and Wolf Construction.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church and Operating Engineers Local #101.

Eric married Lori Jean Kitrell on November 7, 1981 in Holton. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his mother, Ruby Spaar of Sabetha, KS; a son, Christopher Spaar (Ashley) of Holton, KS; a daughter, Tiffany Dunn (Ed) of Topeka, KS; 4 brothers, Rick Spaar (Norma) of Footville, WI, Tony Spaar of Eudora, KS, Doug Spaar (Mavis) of Topeka, KS and Tim Spaar (Teri) of Pace, FL; 4 sisters, Twila Myers of Pensacola, FL, Sheila Askren (Steve) of Holton, KS, Angie Critchett (Paul) of Indian Trail, NC and Laura Aguirre of Charlotte, NC and 6 grandchildren, Akadia, Phoenix, Maverick, Noah, Lily and Rylie.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Spaar.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery.
