Emily Ruth Rogers, 73, of Emporia passed away on October 9, 2007 at Medicalodges Jackson County in Holton. She was born November 29, 1933, in Jackson, MS, the daughter of Henry Clifton and Ruth Jane Chancellor Brent. She lived in Holton from 1971 until she moved to Emporia in 1991. She was a waitress for Trails Café and Willie's Diner in Holton, and later at the Flying J in Emporia. She married Charles Rogers in 1956, they later divorced.
Survivors include her daughter; Peggie Zirger and her husband Fred of Topeka; sisters, Ruby Behrends, and Romona Powers, both of Holton; 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers; Henry Brent and Marvin Brent.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2007 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. The family will greet friends from 7:00 to 8:00 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
