Obituary
Elza Wayne Prowell, 95, of Holton passed away June 27, 2015 in Holton.
He was born March 9, 1920 in Lebo, the son of Elza R. Prowell and Anna Grace (Lafferty) Prowell.
He graduated from Olivet High School and Friends University and also did graduate study at Emporia State University and Washburn University.
He married Martha Jane Corbin on February 4, 1946 in Newton. She preceded him in death June 3, 2000.
Mr. Prowell served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He taught in Kansas schools for 37 years.
Survivors include daughters, Patricia Prowell of Abilene, KS and Marilyn and husband Duane Campbell of Sabetha, KS; sons, Richard Prowell of Boston, MA and Steve Prowell and wife Sheryl of Lake St. Louis, MO; four grandsons, and two great grand children.
Mr. Prowell was cremated. Memorial graveside services will be at a later date. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery at Lebo, KS. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Assoc. c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
